The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program at UEAS Swat combines professional engineering practice with core business and management subjects. Unlike a traditional MBA program which prepares professionals for management roles while focusing on general business and managerial aspects only, the MEM program at UEAS Swat will help professionals to develop leadership and managerial skills with the ability to lead people and projects as well as leverage their technical background to make them more effective technical specialists. It is the only degree program offered by a university in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and the most flexible MEM program in the country. Since most of our students will be part-time working professionals, we make it easy to complete the program at their own pace. In addition, students will be able to customize the program with elective courses based on their area of specialization, unlike other cohort-based programs.
Why choose MS Engineering Management?
In Pakistan, complex technology projects and business operations are led by engineers, scientists, and professionals without formal management training. However, the worldwide rapid-paced, competitive environment demands executing such activities artfully to gain substantial benefits. Additionally, the present global challenges of sustainability, safety, and environmental protection desire well-trained human resources which could integrate technical and business skills to gratify such constraints and meet the requirements of all stakeholders. The MEM is designed to keep in view all these requirements and will assist the professionals in gaining significant gains.
The program will adopt a multidisciplinary learning approach that will use engineering principles to solve problems encountered in manufacturing and business environments. This MEM will help professionals develop leadership and managerial skills to lead people and high-tech projects and leverage their technical backgrounds to become effective specialists. The students will apply the decision-making tools and techniques beneficial in a diverse spectrum of specialities, including marketing, finance, accounting, project management, operations management, and behavioral sciences.
